Develops Campaigns that Exceed Goals

Behind the Scenes of Creative Autonomy

In 2023, I had the opportunity to work with a local doggy daycare in NW, Washington DC.

When working with City Dogs, I coordinated a time to have my friends dog groomed. The idea was for me to film the entire grooming process, with a dog that was comfortable with me. That way, we could protect the privacy of customers pets, and also shoot some good content for marketing collateral.

The photography was used for Google Ads and Google Business Listing posts. Both of which performed well. Not expected but the business received kind reviews mentioning they loved the groomer in the photos, and have enjoyed City Dogs services for years.

A time when taking the initiative paid off

The search for success

I spearheaded an SEO campaign for Underwood Energy, a propane business in Baltimore, MD. When they decided to focus on SEO, I integrated SEO Space, a new SEO tool that was created specifically for Squarespace websites. By utilizing this tool, I’ve successfully elevated their SEO score from a 52 to a 78. In addition, in Google Search Console, impressions have peaked for the year.

A time when a client shifted the entire strategy on short notice.

Underwood is my longest standing client. I’ve been working with them for two years. When they came to me with concern about not showing in search results, I immediately devised a new strategy for SEO. Unfortunately, this meant cutting our losses on long-term projects that have been in the works for months including, direct mail, and email marketing. Although slightly frustrating that those campaigns would never be executed, I prioritized my clients personal perception of successful marketing.

Drives Customer Service Excellence

Begin with the end in mind

I know firsthand the conflicts that can errupt due to unclear expectations. If given the opportunity, I would work to identify the clients understanding of what marketing success looks like to them. Once that has been made clear, I’d build out KPIs and goals. Leveling expectations is essential for a successful client relationship.

A time when a client was dissatisfied with the amount of touch points I was providing:

While working on a contract with a small leather goods manufacturer, DCFD Shields, (unfortunately, they are no longer in business), the owner/operator became frustrated when he didn’t hear from me on a weekly basis. Apparently my typical monthly performance check ins was not enough communication from his perspective. The way he let me know was not ideal. But once I understood his concern, I increased performance checkins to weekly. This gave us more opportunity to reduce friction points, and made the client feel well taken care of.

Delivers Outstanding Client Care

Go above and beyond

In summer 2024, my client, Catalyst Hot Dogs, opened a hot dog stand at the University of Maryland Football Stadium. Taking the initiative, I made a special trip to make sure I celebrated his accomplishment in-person.

Bonus, while in attendance, I was able to film his appearance on the field while he tossed hot dogs into the student section. It was a super fun, high-energy day.

Spins Insights Like a Pro

Be proactive

As a solopreneur, I’ve be managing multiple roles including marketing, strategy, and execution.

Access to custom dashboards is 100% essential to efficiently track and monitor my clients’ digital marketing performance across Google Ads, Search Console, SEO, and social media channels.

I customize each dashboard to highlight the KPIs that matter most to clients. This streamlines reporting and also empowers me to deliver actionable insights to help reach my client’s marketing goals.

Clarity above all else

Mixing Business with Belly Laughs

Make work fun

One of my mottos, is ‘to make work fun’. We spend most of our lives with our coworkers so why not giggle and hehe, from time to time? I have a huge personality and I love using my humor to connect with coworkers and clients.

An ideal time to make more fun is during monthly performance reviews. This can be a heavy conversation at times, so making the mood a bit lighter can be beneficial for all parties. At the same time, performance metrics are very important and carry a seriousness. Likewise, this is a delicate balance of fun and intensity that I’ve been perfecting throughout my career.

Cutting Through the Confusion

Seek first to understand, then to be understood

When Meadow Brook Farm came to me looking to increase sales for their meat farm; they were unsure why sales had nearly come to a stand still.

After auditing their digital landscape, I quickly noticed the language was confusing and their website was anything but user friendly.

The farm wanted to collect deposits for their meat orders because the butchering process takes up to 40 days. I listened empathetically and tried best to improve the process without a complete over haul. But unfortunately, the friction point remained.

After 9 months, I was able to make the client feel comfortable with changing their entire process. Instead of collecting a deposit, we allowed customers to pay in full. This resulted in a 70% increase in sales.

In addition, I did an entire rebrand and rebuild—new colors, fonts, and logo helped the small farm business stand out among their competition. And, a speedy journey to the checkout cart made their customers satisfied.
